Design and Implementation of a Mobile Phone Controlled Door Lock System
Abstract
Mobile phones network finds wide use in todays’ world, this makes them, suitable for remote automation and control. In this paper, a mobile phone-controlled door lock system was designed and implemented. The designed system uses microcontroller and GSM module, to control the door operation. The control codes used by the microcontroller were developed in Arduino IDE (Independent Development Environment) using Arduino language. The prototype of the system was developed using servomotor as actuator for the door lock system. The GSM module was used as a link between the microcontroller and the door lock system to be controlled. It receives the command from a remote mobile phone and sends the command to the microcontroller for required action to be taken. The commands are in the form of phone call with a code authentication. The system has a door status information capability which can obtain via SMS.
