Abstract

In recent times, poor systems reliability has characterized the power systems network in Kaduna, Nigeria. One of the causes of this drawback may be tied to the lack of effective maintenance practices and policies. Although there exists a maintenance department and a routine for carrying out various maintenance practices, however, the failure rate as a result of poor maintenance of the network is on the increase. In this study, therefore, risk assessment was carried out on Airport Feeder AF and Kikinau Feeder KF radiating from Kaduna metropolis using the Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis FMECA. The results show that the critical components in the network require attention. The results of this study, therefore, can be useful for system planning and operations.
