Adomian Decomposition Method and Variational Iteration Method for Solving Fourth Order Differential Equation with Initial Conditions
Abstract
This paper discusses the numerical solutions of fourth-order differential equations with the initial value problems. The numerical methods consider generating the sequence of improving approximate solution of the problems considered in both the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) and the Variational Iteration Method (VIM). The methods are applied on three differential examples of fourth-order ordinary differential equations whose exact solutions are known. It is established that the VIM gives a better solution as its series solution converges faster when compared to ADM.
