Competency Needs of Agricultural Science Teachers toward Conducting Practical Lessons in Senior Secondary Schools in Bauchi Local Government of Bauchi State

Abstract


The main objective of this study is to determine the competency needs of Agricultural Science Teachers toward conducting practical lessons in Senior Secondary Schools in Bauchi local government of Bauchi State.  Three objectives were prepared to guide the study. The study employed descriptive research design. The area of the study is Bauchi Local Government of Bauchi State, Nigeria. The population of the study was made up of 120 Agricultural Science Teachers from 45 Senior Secondary Schools in the study area. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan's table of sample size determination, where 92 respondents were selected. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire termed as CNAST. The collection of data for this study was achieved using a set of well-structured questionnaires to be administered by the researchers. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics which comprised of percentages, mean and standard deviation and t-test would be used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance.
