Abstract

The Nigerian education system faces various challenges, including gaps in teaching practices such as subject delivery, pedagogical deficiencies, insufficient teaching experience, compromised instructional quality, and declining standards. It is crucial to address these issues and find appropriate solutions to ensure the progress of education in Nigeria and achieve a high-quality learning environment that upholds ethical teaching practices. In this context, this paper focuses on the role of supervision as a tool for promoting effective teaching and learning and explores the challenges associated with its implementation in the Nigerian context.
