Exploration of the Conflict Resolution Strategies on the Gaza Conflict

Abstract


One of the greatest, most contentious, and most conflicting problems in modern world affairs is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict regarding the Gaza Strip. Gaza is mainly controlled by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, which has fought Israel many times. Israel and Egypt tightly control Gaza's borders to stop weapons getting to Hamas. Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank say they are suffering because of Israeli actions and restrictions. Israel says it is only acting to protect itself from Palestinian violence. The threatened eviction of some Palestinian families in East Jerusalem has also caused rising anger. Some countries including the US recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, others, including the UN reject this. The Gaza conflict has become a protracted conflict which has seen a number of resolution strategies. This study's main goal is to investigate the strategies with which the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is being resolved. To assist the research, the study primarily used historical, qualitative methodology and theoretical perspectives.
