Heightening Quality Assurance in University Education to Foster Sustainable Peace, Security and Economy Development in Nigeria

Abstract


Quality assurance is a cornerstone of university education, fostering an environment conducive to security, economic development, and sustainable peace. Universities play a critical role in shaping future leaders across various professions, with the quality of education significantly impacting graduates' competence, effectiveness, and employability. This paper highlights the pivotal role of enhanced quality assurance in promoting sustainable development. As a standard practice, quality assurance ensures the continuous improvement of university education, reflecting positively on its graduates. This impact is evident in industrial growth, improved infrastructure, job creation, and the provision of social services. Furthermore, the paper underscores the link between heightened quality assurance and the promotion of peace, security, and economic stability. It addresses challenges such as substandard facilities and regulatory inefficiencies, proposing actionable solutions. In conclusion, strengthening quality assurance systems in universities is both essential and achievable, with far-reaching benefits for individuals, communities, and states.
