Abstract

This research paper focuses on enhancing cybersecurity in e-governance systems, a critical area given the increasing reliance on digital platforms for government services. The study aims to evaluate the current cybersecurity landscape within e-governance infrastructures, identify vulnerabilities, and propose an improved, comprehensive framework to mitigate security risks. Using a mixed-method approach, data was collected through surveys with IT administrators and interviews with cybersecurity experts. The research examines key areas, including the challenges of securing legacy systems, the risks associated with multi-platform environments, and the integration of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain. The findings reveal significant concerns regarding outdated infrastructures, inconsistencies in security policies across platforms, and the vulnerabilities introduced by new technologies. Based on these insights, the proposed cybersecurity framework incorporates AI-driven threat detection, robust incident response strategies, and user-centered design principles to balance usability and security. The study highlights the potential of these measures to improve response times, secure data handling processes, and protect against advanced cyber threats.
