Problems and Prospects of Using Instructional Materials in The Teaching of Arabic Language in Senior Secondary Schools in Bauchi State
Abstract
The paper examined the challenges and potential benefits associated with the utilization of instructional materials in the instruction of Arabic Language at the Senior Secondary School level in Bauchi State. Employing a descriptive research design, the study involved a sample of 103 participants. Data collection was facilitated through the administration of a self-developed questionnaire entitled "Problem and Prospect of Using Instructional Materials" (PPUIM). The collected data were analyzed using measures of central tendency such as mean and standard deviation. Anticipated outcomes of the study included insights into the efficacy of instructional materials in facilitating the teaching of Arabic Language, as well as their ability to generate interest in the subject and enhance students' academic performance. Consequently, it was expected that the findings would underscore the importance of incorporating instructional materials into Arabic Language instruction. In light of the anticipated results, recommendations were made urging governmental intervention to ensure the provision of adequate instructional materials for teaching Arabic Language. This proactive measure was expected to yield improved learning outcomes and foster the intellectual development of students.
